The Origin of Violence
Violence is a product of negative energy that is yet to be let out of our system. Violence can be expressed both physically and literally. Humans are containers of energy, both positive and negative. The more unchecked negative energy we have in our system, AKA the human body, the likelier we are to be violent.
This negative energy can either be anger, frustration, rage, hatred and any other negative emotion that needs to be expressed.
The role of energy is to be expressed. If we do not express that energy in some way, that energy builds up within us and results in violence.
Any human being can be violent, and violence is part of human nature. Those who are more prone to feel anger and frustration are those likelier to express violent tendencies more often.
The Impact of Violence
The impact of violence can be seen both individually and collectively. Both individuals and collectives can be violent as a result of negative energy. In individuals it can be expressed in shouting and in hitting and in cursing, and in collectives it can be expressed in wars, mass protests, and as such the collective impact of violence is more severe than the individual level.
The impact of violence can result in trauma, injury or even death. It is important to reduce the impact of violence by finding healthy outlets for our negative energies.
Healthy Outlets: The Key to Reducing Violence
A healthy outlet can be defined as any activity that allows the release of negative energy without causing violence. Violence is, basically, an unhealthy expression of negative energy, and a very harmful outlet.
Healthy outlets can teach us that, first of all, violence is not the answer, and second of all, that our negative energy has legitimacy. Society teaches us that we should repress that negative energy, which is very unhealthy. The right solution instead is to find useful, creative or helpful ways to release that energy in a way that does not hurt anyone. That way, no one will be hurt, and the carrier of the negative energy will feel more satisfied, at the same time.
Healthy outlets can range from video games to writing to exercise to creating art. It is the moral task of each and every individual to find a healthy way to release his or her negative energies in a way that do not hurt the world around them.
The more people will release their negative energy in healthy ways, the less violent they will become.
Case Example: My Writing
As a writer, I have a lot of energies. One of the reasons I write a lot is because I seek to channel my immense energies in healthy ways, that contribute to a more rectified world.
I live in solitude because I find the world too violent to partake, and have my own inner demons to handle, by writing.
As a writer, I am constantly frustrated. I feel that my potential is a burden, and I seek all the time to be productive so I will feel some kind of satisfaction.
But I am rarely satisfied, and that is why I prefer to write in solitude: To spare the world of my existence, and to contribute to existence in healthy ways that don't cause damage to it.
As a very high-energies individual, I do my best to channel my energies in ways that do not hurt anyone. That is why I write so much. I have a lot to express.
Conclusion
If we want a healthy, less violent world, we need to apply our negative energies wisely, in ways that won't accidentally shoot us in the foot in the form of hurting others. Eventually, hurting others will hurt ourselves in the long run, and therefore in order to not damage our progress in whatever we're doing in life, we need to practice healthy outlets more often.
As much as violence is tempting, it is one of the reasons the world isn't rectified, and why there is much suffering in it; suffering that can be reduced. Had we practiced channelling our negative energies in ways that won't hurt others, the world would've been a better place to live.
Just imagine how many tackles and conflicts, both interpersonal and collective, would've been prevented if people channelled their negative energy in healthy ways.
Violence is not the answer. Expressing our energies in healthy ways is how we can live in harmony with others and with ourselves.
