The Horror of Heat

Updated: Feb 11

I'm too exhausted to elaborate what I've to say in a proper article, so I'll be brief here as well, forgive me.

I do not know for certain if climate change exists, even though I believe it does; It appears that as the years go on, it's only getting warm and warmer.

I have an air conditioner on, I have a fan on, and yet I feel so hot... I wonder if anyone else sees the trend here. I do not recall having this much heat in my earlier years.

The caring for the environment is underrated and underutilized, so it seems. The problem with green energy is the fact that it might be costlier than cheaper, anti-green resources, such as coal and the like.

I believe capitalism is by nature anti-green, not because it wants to destroy the world or anything, but because it prioritizes revenue over anything else; capitalizing, as the name says. Having more benefit to the world, and to customers is general, is sometimes costlier than reducing anything else in the name of further increase of revenue.

Think of airplanes. They have a limited space, right? If you want to capitalize on the potential revenue of air travel, then you must let in as many people as possible, so you will earn more money from their consumption of your services. Thus, some sacrifices must be made in order to optimize the revenue of your business.

I'm not certain, but wind-based energy is costlier than simply making energy out of burning coal. You need to place the turbines where there is the most wind, dedicate enough electricity to the machine, and hopefully you'll get enough energy to those who depend on your power -- the power of wind, which isn't harmful to the environment like burning coal.

As long as we prioritize capitalization of revenue over the preservation of our environment, I'm afraid this philosophy would eventually lead us to our doom, by bringing the world's end closer than its "original" expiration. You do know that planets are not immortal, right?

It's like smoking. It might be fun, but it reduces your overall life span, by bringing you closer to your doom. I know what I'm talking about, my deceased grandmother was an avid smoker who died in a relatively young age. Had she not smoked at all she might've been alive today.

This is also why I don't really want to contribute or participate in the world beyond this site. It might seem naïve, but it seems that the world's industries are only making the world hotter. It doesn't make sense to me, that I have both an air conditioner and a fan on and I'm being with minimal clothing, and yet I still feel so hot! I put samples of ice on my chest just to reduce my heat!

And it seems that, this trend will not be going any better, only worse. I can only imagine how it would be in the next few years... it was also warm in the last winter, which didn't last that long anyways.

Why should I want to contribute to a society that makes the world warmer for myself? This isn't just about me, it's about anyone else as well. If we want to extend the duration of humanity, then we must work on the world's industries, to be more echo-friendly. After all, our existence depends on Earth's condition.

I sure miss feeling cooler... I sometimes wonder, are we losing the natural ability to cool ourselves? That's what seems to me, anyway. Maybe there could be a correlation between heat and... exhaustion?
